Columbia County Chess association

The Columbia County Chess Association proudly offers playing opportunities to the Columbia County area, to include Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, and Appling. With certified United States Chess Federation (USCF) tournament directors we offer rated chess matches of varying time controls throughout the year.

Weekly USCF Rated & Casual Play

We offer and encourage all levels of chess play. We meet Wednesdays evenings at Cardboard Castle with casual play beginning at 5:30. USCF Rated quick or blitz games offered, beginning around 6:30 pm.

USCF Membership required for rated play.

$10 per player. This cost covers all rated games for the night.

CCCA Chess League with monthly USCF Regular Rated Tournaments

As a part of the year-long running league play, players of all levels compete for the Title, prize and bragging rights as the league winnings of each section will be memorialized in the “League Trophy”.

4 Rounds of G/30;d10 games will be played at the Columbia County Library, Room A. Games will begin after opening announcements at approximately 10:15 am.

USCF Membership required for rated play.

Free (casual) play will also be offered in the library’s cafe.

The Columbia County Chess Association meets every Wednesday at Cardboard Castle Games. Cardboard Castle is moving! Stating in June ’25, the new location for Cardboard Castle Games and our Wednesday Chess is 3836 Washington Rd. #9, Martinez, GA 30907.
